What your proof builds.

Adapted from the SpinStream™ / NFArtifact™ Identity and Proof-Lineage Paper. Published October 16, 2026.

A creative work deserves more than a loose file and a claim. It deserves an identifiable record, with evidence that can grow around it.

One work. One record. One AIN. Proof can grow around it.

Start with a continuing identity

The Artifact Identification Number—AIN—is the SpinStream-issued identifier for the artifact record. It keeps the work connected to its evidence as that record develops.

The point is continuity. Stronger proof should strengthen the existing record rather than give the same work an unrelated identity.

Build the evidence around the work

The paper distinguishes the roles clearly: a starting record establishes identity; Standard Proof strengthens the surrounding evidence; Blockchain Proof adds an external corroboration layer.

Identity, recorded timestamps, file fingerprints, registry references and supporting documentation answer different questions. Together, they make a work’s record easier to examine, compare and present.

Support and complement your copyright record

SpinStream proof is designed to build and preserve evidence around the work. That evidence can support and complement a copyright record, including the evidence surrounding a formally registered copyright.

Formal copyright registration and the SpinStream evidence record have distinct roles. The value here is the connected documentation: what was submitted, how it was identified, when events were recorded and which checks support it.

Keep the dates meaningful

The AIN timestamp records issuance of the artifact identity. A sealing timestamp records sealing. A creator’s original creation date is another piece of the history. Naming those events precisely makes the record more useful.

The work stays at the center

A blockchain anchor can add corroboration. A future token can point back to the artifact. The work and its continuing identity remain the foundation.

The proof grows. The identity does not change.

Keep building your record

Bring your work, your contribution and the available evidence together around one continuing AIN.
